We are beyond excited about our Featured Storytellers for the upcoming December slam. We’ve got Cristie Chamberland, a traveler, a sometimes poet, and a teacher of various things, whose work has been seen at the Portland Story Theater, Here’s the Story Chicago, and Story Sessions in Chicago; Morley McBride, a recent Brooklyn-to-Boulder transplant and former Moth StorySLAM winner; & Bradley Spann, a Truth Be Told veteran, winner in the Funniest Damn Story category at the first annual Grand Slam earlier this year and Fringe Festival extraordinaire with his one-man show, Me and My Monkey. We’re delighted to welcome them to the Truth Be Told stage.
Cristie Chamberland has been living in Chicago for the past year, although currently moving out to somewhere less… Polar Vortexy and will be subjecting herself to a self-imposed creative writing retreat on Maui for the winter. She has been a traveler, a sometimes poet, and a teacher of various things, working mostly with kids and adults with developmental disabilities. She’s performed in her friends’ living rooms, her shower, and her car – as well as with Portland Story Theater, Here’s the Story Chicago, and Story Sessions in Chicago. This winter on Maui she plans on writing short truth-y stories that will perhaps someday be part of her own one-gal show.
Morley McBride is a consultant and creative strategist for organizations and sustainable product companies. She is a Moth NYC StorySlam winner and GrandSlam storyteller. When not indoors, she is frequently found outdoors.
Bradley Spann is a Truth Be Told veteran. In addition to telling a story at nearly every TBT slam since its inception, he won in the Funniest Damn Story category at the first annual Grand Slam earlier this year. Bradley has an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa and has done an extensive Fringe Festival tour of his one-man show, Me and My Monkey. Word on the street is that he will be pulling up stakes and leaving Boulder very soon. We are delighted to have him grace our stage one more time.
